Behind the Scenes at Pure Sound - Signia, Made for iPhone, Hearing Aid Training

Last evening we were invited to a training event in Harrisburg to learn about the new, made for iPhone, Signia  Pure 13 BT primax star hearing aids.  ​This is a great choice for iPhone users!  Here are some of the highlights:

• High-Definition wireless binaural (both ears) hearing
• Direct connection to iPhone using Bluetooth 2.4 gHz low energy
• Connects to Pure Sound's mHealth mobile hearing care app
  • includes mobile guided assistance, personal progress monitoring, and text-like communication channels.

• Motion Sensor adjusted microphones
  • when stationary in a noisy environment, the hearing aids automatically, gradually focus microphone direction towards speech in front of the wearer
  • when the hearing aids detect motion, such as, walking, running, driving etc..they will relax to aim the microphones in any direction 
    • example 1:  if the wearer is walking side by side with someone, the microphones would aim towards the side speech is coming from
    • example 2: if car motion is detected and a passenger is sitting behind the wearer, the microphones will aim behind the wearer, to hear the passenger better, while also reducing road noise sounds
  • This technology has been clinically proven time and again to produce better than normal hearing
• With Dolby Digital Direct StreamLine TV, audio from the TV can be fed directly and wirelessly into the hearing aids.  Volume can be adjusted via the free iPhone app.

• Measures sound exposure
  • a sound level meter in the iPhone uses the hearing aids microphones to log  decibel levels the wearer is exposed to during the day 
  • a graph is displayed on the iPhone to show the wearer what level of sound he or she is being exposed to in real time or in a history of logged levels during the day
  • this is a great tool to help protect the ears from further nerve damage
• HD Music
  • the hearing aids optimize for live, musician (wearer played), and recorded music for an outstanding sound experience
• Phone Calls are streamed directly from the iPhone to the hearing aids instantly for binaural (both ears) hearing on the iPhone
