Gradual change is hard to detect. A sense of creeping normality is a fact. On a daily basis, hearing aids may seem fine and not much thought might go into having them. But dust and sweat can clog the microphone filters, the earpiece tubing can oxidize and harden, and grime can collect on the electrical contacts for the batteries. This usually happens on a very subtle basis over time, until one day something wrong becomes largely noticeable. But this kind of thing happens with everybody with one thing or another.
A yearly hearing test and check on the hearing aids can do the trick. Among other things, the software can be checked to make sure it is up-to-date. Taking a family member along is good to help work toward solutions that fit or to get or give clarification of information. If you need an annual check on your hearing aids and hearing test, please contact your hearing instrument specialist at Pure Sound Hearing Aids.
