It has been worth waiting for a fully integrated lithium-ion battery--the latest rechargeable battery for hearing aids. The rechargeable technology for hearing aids has changed over time. Not all rechargeable batteries are created equal. You might have had to take other batteries out of the hearing aids to recharge them. Or, the charge in other batteries might not have lasted an entire day. But the lithium-ion battery makes the real difference. The charge lasts more than a day, the batteries don’t need to be changed, and the batteries last up to six years.
There are different types of batteries for hearing aids--nickel-metal hydride, silver-zinc battery, and lithium-ion. The lithium-ion battery works wonders. The Phonak Audéo B-R is a good example of a hearing aid with lithium-ion batteries.
