In the study, which occured in 2013, a link was discovered between hypertension and hearing loss. The subjects were adults 45 to 64 years old. The older people had hypertension in more more cases than the younger people. The study confirmed that high blood pressure does impact hearing by increasing the degeneration of the hearing components due to aging.
