What are 5 Signs of Hearing Loss in Dogs?

They may have a higher likelihood of having deafness at birth or developing hearing loss later in life. It’s important to note that your dog may not develop deafness just because they are of a specific breed. It can be based on various genetic factors. 
3. Age - Aging changes several parts of a dog’s body, including their ears. Nerves located in the ears can eventually deteriorate, causing gradual symptoms of hearing loss.
4. Damage to the Ear - Ear damage can cause deafness in dogs. It can be caused by physical damage to the eardrum resulting from repeated noise exposure. Ear infections that are left untreated can also lead to long-term inflammation that may require surgery. 
5. Ototoxicity - Heavy metal exposure or certain chemicals can lead to hearing loss in dogs. If medication is used incorrectly or causes side effects, it may lead to deafness. Dogs should only be given prescribed medications, and if they are exposed to toxins, a veterinarian or Pet Poison Control should be contacted immediately.
