Starkey's Livio AI is the first hearing aid in the world that combines sensors and AI, or artificial intelligence. This hearing aid is shifting how we think of hearing aids and how we use them.
Tap Control The Tap Control feature allows users of Livio AI to start or stop audio flow by tapping their ear twice. Users of Livio AI, do not need to touch their hearing aids at all. There are sensors incorporated into the devices to identify taps on the ears. This triggers the “pause” function on the TV or Remote Microphone + accessory. It just takes two swift taps, almost anywhere on your ears, to briefly pause a streaming TV to speak to someone. If you are in a restaurant with a friend, the Tap Control allows you to pause a streaming discussion with them in order to speak to a waiter. This is an efficient approach to stop and start streaming without mishandling your hearing aids, or searching for a button to push. CES Innovation Award The CES Innovation Awards honored Starkey® Hearing Technologies for the CES 2019 Innovation Award on its groundbreaking Livio™ AI hearing aid. The CES Innovation Awards recognize outstanding engineering and product design in brand new consumer technology products. The Livio AI is now part of an exclusive group of innovative consumer products, that has earned this distinguished honor. The pioneering technology was acknowledged in the Awards’ Accessibility category. This category is committed to products and services that have state-of-the-art features, which expand accessibility for seniors and people with disabilities. Best-Sounding Hearing Aid Starkey’s President, Brandon Sawalich, asserts that the Livio AI is the company’s “best-sounding hearing aid”. Sensors that incorporate artificial intelligence with hearing aids has changed the hearing aid into a ground-breaking instrument with multiple purposes. In addition to helping users hear better, it tracks the health of their mind and body. Thrive™ App The Livio AI connects with a brand-new app --Thrive™ -- for your mobile phone. It also communicates with three new wireless components: the Starkey Hearing Technologies TV, Hearing Reality™, and the Remote and the Remote Microphone+. This feature for Livio AI makes it the first hearing aid to connect to Amazon’s Alexa device. Hearing Reality ™ Hearing Reality ™ diminishes noisy surroundings by 50 percent. This considerably decreases the effort to listen and improves the clarity of verbal communication, while artificial intelligence enhances one’s hearing capabilities. Health Monitor Achin Bhowmik Ph.D., Starkey’s Chief Technology Officer has stressed that Starkey has improved hearing aids the same way Apple® improved phones. The Livio AI is not simply a great hearing aid, it’s also a device with various elements that can track the health of a wearer’s brain and body health. The hearing aids have an integrated 3D motion sensor. These sensors track your physical activity, similar to a FitBit. In the near future, a software update will allow the Livio AI to detect falls, making them the first hearing aids ever to be able to do so. Language Translation The Livio AI also offers instant language translation. This allows users to easily communicate with people who speak other languages via the Thrive app. An internet connection is required to use this feature. This modern technology permits people to personally take control and create an individualized approach to confronting their issues with hearing loss. The Livio AI is currently available in the U.S. and Canada. This year, it will be expanding to over 20 countries.
