Are all Hearing Aids Wireless?

Virtually all hearing aids today are wireless. Reception and transmission of signals between hearing aids or other electronic devices occur easily because of pristine internal circuitry. External cords, wires, or cables are basically a thing of the past. And hearing aids with external features cannot communicate with each other or with electronic devices.

Today’s hearing aids are able to work together for clear communication. Bluetooth technology and small internal radios not only allow the hearing aids to work together seamlessly, they also allow for communication with other devices, like special accessories, tablets, smartphones, or televisions.

Wireless hearing aids are mainstream; they are the new norm. And they have many advantages over non-wireless hearing aids. These are the reasons why wireless hearing aids are better:

  1. More clear-cut amplification is an awesome reality with wireless hearing aids. Reducing background noise, sharing information about the acoustic environment, and optimizing speech recognition, wireless hearing aids obviously outshine ones with wires.
  2. Phone calls are heard equally and balanced in both ears, which improves comprehension of speech and certainly beats hearing in just one ear with the old kind.
  3. Wireless hearing aids have noise control with the press of a button.
  4. Wireless hearing aids can be customized by the wearer to remember certain environments.
  5. The appropriate memory for a specific listening situation can be created with geotagging, which automatically populates the hearing aids with specific memories.
  6. The wearer can manipulate the volume of the television, using a streaming accessory, without impacting others.
  7. A remote microphone amplifies speech above background noise for better listening.
  8. There is a driving function for better listening.
  9. Memory and volume for both hearing aids can be adjusted with just one touch.
  10. There is also a remote control mechanism for those wearers with less dexterity.

Today’s hearing aids are high-tech and convenient. Sound quality is optimized and there are various levels of connectivity. For more information about hearing aids, please contact your hearing instrument specialist at Pure sound Hearing Aids.
