Essential oils have recently become very popular, mainly because of the growth in interest for using alternative medicine.
What exactly are essential oils? These are concentrated liquids that are extracted from plants, such as fruits and herbs. Popular essential oils are lavender, lemon and peppermint. Normally, these oils are used in foods or other products, like candles, to add flavor or a pleasant scent. There have been several claims made about essential oils, which are not FDA regulated. There is little to no evidence that essential oils can help with ear infections, hearing loss, tinnitus or vertigo. There has not been enough clinical research on whether essential oils are helpful, and most claims are either unfounded or only based on people’s self-evaluations. CBD Oils and Tinnitus CBD oil is one of the few types of oils that has been thoroughly researched. There has been conflicting research demonstrating that CBD oil is helpful for tinnitus. Essential Oils for Vertigo and Ear Infections There has been no evidence that essential oils are useful when it comes to treating vertigo, or ear infections. Do Essential Oils Pose Any Risks? Essential oils are not severely dangerous, and most likely won’t cause permanent damage. If you decide to use them, be aware of any allergic reactions to your skin. Essential oils should never be applied in your ear canal. The oil may burn delicate mucous membranes in the ear if it is not diluted upon application.
